I am passing this information on about the mosquito spraying this summer. Pay attention to the information about the Asian Tiger Mosquito. This may be why we are seeing more mosquitos this summer. Let your neighbors know to not leave standing water around.

Good morning, Mr. Schonberger,
Yes, Delmarva Park is participating in our Mosquito Control program this year. We received your application on April 5, 2021 and our account shows both you and Mr. Gladwin as contacts, so I will make the necessary revisions. Our application records indicate that Delmarva Park has received mosquito spraying on the following dates:
May 25, June 9, June 15, June 22, July 6, July 21, July 28, and August 10.
Any application records after August 10th may not have been posted yet. If you would like any additional information about these applications please contact me.
I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that there is one species of mosquito that can be difficult to control even with the truck-mounted spraying that you are receiving. It is called the "Asian Tiger Mosquito" and lays eggs and develops exclusively in "containers". Typically when we hear about mosquito annoyance from program customers during an average dry summer like we have had (at least up to a couple weeks ago) we find that the annoyance is usually from the tiger mosquito. They are small black and white mosquitoes that are very active in the morning and then again late afternoon into the evening. They only travel a few hundred feet from the container in which they developed and they are very annoying. The best way to control this species is to have all residents empty any container holding water longer than 7 days: ie bird baths, saucers under potted plants, buckets, children's toys, boats, tarps etc. If your schedule allows and you have a method of communication with all shareholders, I would like to request that you remind them to empty all containers holding water. This is the most effective way at eliminating this mosquito.
If I can be of any further assistance, please contact me. Thank you and I appreciate your continued support of our mosquito control program.
